Péter PÉTER

I was born in Târgu Mureş on September 7, 1952. After a few short years in Medias, I graduated from high school in Cristuru Secuiesc in 1971.

I graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Brasov in 1976. Since then I have been living in Odorheiu Secuiesc and have been entering my workplace through the same gate for 46 years: 19 years at the Matrita factory and nearly 27 years at Matplast srl. All my career I have been engaged in tool manufacturing.

I have been married since 1981. I have two sons: a dentist and an economist. The latter now runs the family business, Matplast srl. I am proud of my family.  We live and want to live in Odorheiu Secuiesc, also with my grandchildren.

So far, I have lived my life according to very simple principles: things are white or black,  parallel or perpendicular. Neither grey nor oblique is acceptable! It was difficult to adhere to these principles, often very expensive, but I still live by them at the age of 70.

I am a founding member of the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc. I participate organically in the activities of the club: I especially support the elite training program, but I also encourage relations between Rotary clubs. The relations between the clubs in Szeklerland are close to my heart, and by organizing the trip of the Korona installation to Hungary, we maintain wonderful relations with the clubs there.

As a member of the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc, I consider the interests of my narrow patriarch obligatory for me!

In 2020, Rotary District 2241 awarded me the Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
