Donations of computers and monitors for rural schools

On 17 December 2019 RC Dunakeszi launched a new donation to Szeklerland with 100 sets of used but refurbished high-performance IT equipment (DELL Optilex 990DT computer, DELL E1908FP monitor, keyboard and accessories).

The donation was distributed by RC Odorheiu Secuiesc to schools in 6 communes in the Odorheiu Secuiesc area, for Christmas (Lupeni, Ocna de Jos, Cechești, Firtușu, Goagiu, Avrămești and Vlahita).

The donated IT equipment is used by approximately 1,800 primary and secondary school students in the fields of education, culture and information.

As a continuation of the project, on December 18, 2020, another 50 sets of computers and 100 monitors arrived, to which the members of the club from Odorheiu Secuiesc added another 37 computers from their own funds, so that the 87 computers reached the schools in Dealu, Brădești, Ulies, Porumbeni Mari, Mugeni and Ocland.

The IT equipment is sponsored by the Hungarian Electricity Group (MVM).

Most of the project was carried out by colleagues from Dunakeszi, who cleaned, refurbished, tested, installed legal software and packed the devices.

The team from Odorheiu Secuiesc conducted a needs assessment in rural educational institutions in the Odorheiu Secuiesc area, six months before distribution. Donations were distributed based on applications submitted.
