I was born on December 25, 1954 in Cluj-Napoca.
I graduated from the Apáczai Csere János Theoretical High School in Cluj-Napoca in 1973.
I graduated as a mechanical engineer at the Faculty of Mechanics of the Technical University of Bucharest in 1979, then I worked at the National Institute of Thermal Power Machines, first as a practitioner and then as a design and research engineer.
I got married in 1977 to Ágnes. Our two children, Krisztina Kinga and Zoltán László, were born here. We moved to Odorheiu Secuiesc in 1983.
I worked in the Sealing Technology Department of the Matrita Factory in Odorheiu Secuiesc, first as a development engineer, then as head of department. During the reorganization of the Matrita factory in 1991, I actively assisted in the establishment of Roseal SA, where I acted as Vice-President and Technical Director of the Administrative Council. The company was privatized in 1992, 100% of the shares were bought by the company’s employees. The changed market-oriented conditions posed new challenges for the seal manufacturing in Romania. We had to face the competition that appeared, which we counterbalanced by “delivering” the company’s product and service portfolio to large users in the energy, chemical, petroleum refining and food industries. All this required many trips abroad and even more domestic ones, which significantly increased the theoretical and practical knowledge required in sealing technology.
My accumulated experience forms the basis of my company, MTH SRL, founded in 1997 and still operating today, which is the Romanian representative of the world-wide, USA-based sealing technology company Chesterton.
I am family-oriented, our children and their families live in Odorheiu Secuiesc and Cluj-Napoca, and we are “5-star” grandparents, we have preoccupations even as pensioners.
I believe that it is worth living in such a way that we do not have to be ashamed of our reflection in the mirror. That’s where Rotary helps. I have been a member of the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc since 2006.
