12-16th October 2023
Do you ever find yourself hoping that nothing is left on your plate after a meal, only to end up throwing away the leftovers? Or wishing that food in storage doesn’t spoil, but it still goes bad and gets tossed out?
For many large families, there’s rarely anything left on their plates—not because they don’t want it, but because there’s simply not enough to go around. And for them, food rarely spoils because there’s never enough to store.
These families have many mouths to feed and often struggle to meet their basic needs. Let’s come together to support them by donating durable food items.
October 16th is World Food and Bread Day. It’s a great opportunity to help those who truly need it.
To mark this occasion, the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc and the Red Cross Odorheiu Secuiesc are organizing a durable food collection from October 12th to 16th, 2023 (Thursday to Sunday) in front of the Bethlen neighborhood Merkúr, Lidl, and Kaufland stores. Additionally, on October 16th (Monday) from 10 AM to 2 PM, collections will be held at Márton Áron Square and from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Kis Szent Teréz Parish.
Past experiences have shown that recipients also appreciate donations of children’s toys and books.
The donations will be handed over on Monday, October 16th at 4 PM at the Kis Szent Teréz Parish, where the Szent József Nagycsaládosok Egyesülete (Saint Joseph Large Families Association) will receive and distribute them among its members.
