The first steps for the creation of the Interact Club in Odorheiu Secuiesc 2024-10-23 We are excited to announce that on October 23rd, we took the first steps towards establishing the Interact Club Odorheiu Secuiesc under the support of the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc. The event took place in the grand hall of the Baczkamadarasi Kis Gergely Reformed College. Fifty-five high school students from four different schools gathered for the meeting, accompanied by six teachers and a principal. At the event, we introduced the international Rotary organization and our club, highlighting our most important and interesting projects for students in recent times. Jeszenszky Attila, the Assistant Governor, and Alina Solovăstru, the District Interact Committee Chair member, provided a detailed overview of Interact. Our program concluded with a presentation by Isadora, our Brazilian RYEP exchange student, who shared her experiences as an Interact member. At the end of the meeting, all interested students received a declaration of intent. Durable food collection for large families 2024 2024-10-14 13-16th October 2023 FB event link 16 October 2024 – World Bread and Food Day For 11 years now, on the occasion of World Bread and Food Day, we have organized a special action aimed at supporting families in need. On October 16, we will help the Nagycsaládosok Egyesülete (Association of Large Families) by collecting non-perishable food so that fresh, nutritious nourishment can be put on the tables of large families living in difficult situations. The aim of the action is: The aim of the collection is to provide as many families in need as possible with food essential for everyday life through the Nagycsaládosok Egyesülete (Association of Large Families) of Udvarhelyszék. With the collected non-perishable food, we want to contribute to the daily livelihood of families, especially children, for whom regular, proper nutrition is especially important. Why is participation important? Access to food is everyone’s responsibility. Families in need often have difficulty getting even the most necessary food. But through community collaboration, we can alleviate their difficulties on this special day and in the cold months ahead. What foods are necessary? Within the framework of the promotion, the following non-perishable foods are welcome: Rice Dry pasta Canned food (meat, vegetables, fruits) Flour Sugar Oil Preserved milk Beans, lentils, dry legumes Soup powders, instant food Biscuits, sweets Where to bring the collections? RYEP international exchange program 2024-2025 2024-09-09 At the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc meeting on 28 August, RYEP (Rotary Youth Exchange Program) student Cecilia Márton, who traveled to Taiwan, introduced herself. On September 4, we got to know Isadora de Costa Bitencourt, a RYEP student from Brazil. Alpha and Omega National Physics Competition Sponsorship 2024 2024-05-25 This year the Alpha and Omega national physics competition was held for the 11th time, with seventh- and eighth-grade students participating from Transylvania. The final round was organized between 24-26 May in Odorheiu Secuiesc at the Tamasi Áron High School by Zoltán Székely, physics teacher responsible for the program. At the evaluation held on Saturday afternoon, the successful students received numerous prizes. The Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc undertook to provide (for the second time) the reward for the 12 best performing students this year. Teqball tables for schools in the Odorhei area
a 2024-04-25 Since our previous initiative, where we donated Teqball tables to schools in Odorheiu Secuiesc, was very popular, we extended the program to schools in the Odorhei area as well. In April, we delivered tables to the following schools: Berde Mózes High School, Cristuru Secuiesc Dr. P. Benedek Fidél Primary School, Bisericani Tamási Áron Primary School, Lupeni Petőfi Sándor Primary School, Dealu Márton Áron Primary School, Brădești In addition, on April 25, the GÓBÉK Teqball Team gave a spectacular presentation at Zetelaka, thus popularizing the sport! Elite Training Program 2024 2024-05-16 The Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc announced its tender – the elite training program (the call for applications can be read here – in Hungarian) – for supporting and rewarding students and their teachers who have successfully participated in course competitions. After the zonal stages of the competitions, 24 students’ requests for funding complied with the call for proposals and received support for the preparation of the national and Carpathian Basin stages. On May 16, 2024, in the Baróti Szabó Dávid Room of the Tamasi Áron High School, the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc handed over the grants specified in the call for proposals to the 24 successful students and the preparatory teachers. Tree planting (2024) 2024-03-20 On March 20, 2024, members of the Rotary Club Odorheiu Secuiesc once again participated in a sapling planting campaign. The planting took place at the Szejke Baths. We filled in the gaps in those areas where afforestation has already been done in recent years. Here, we replaced the dry and broken saplings with a total of 50 new saplings: 10 common ash saplings (Fraxinus excelsior) 20 mountain maple saplings (Acer pseudoplatanus) 20 cornish oak saplings (Quercus petrea) The total value was 1000 RON. After the completion of the works, we officially handed over the saplings to the Odorheiu Secuiesc Town Hall, which will continue to carry out the necessary maintenance works. VIII. Székely Summit 2024-03-16 This year, the Rotary clubs of the Székely Land have met for the eighth time in Sovata from 15-17 March.
